Panda Pediatrics is committed to providing your child with screening tests and disease prevention (including vaccinations) as recommended by the Bright Futures initiative of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Starting at your child’s newborn visit, several assessments will be completed to screen for you and your child’s mental well being.
At each check up, starting at 11 years of age, your child will be asked up to 11 questions to assess your child’s risk for anxiety and depression. Early identification and treatment of depression has been shown to improve outcomes.
At each check up, starting at 13 years of age, your teen will be asked a series of confidential questions to gauge your child’s risk for tobacco, alcohol, and drug use. If risk is identified, recommendations and advice will be given to optimize health.
