DENTAL

Panda Pediatrics is committed to providing your child with screening tests and disease prevention (including vaccinations) as recommended by the Bright Futures initiative of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

Once your child has teeth, the AAP recommends oral health screenings at well check visits, until the your child establishes a dental home. We recommend establishing care with a dentist between 1 and 3 years of age.

At these screenings, your child’s risk for cavities will be assessed, counseling will be given if required, and a fluoride varnish is placed to prevent and reverse cavities by strengthening the enamel of the teeth. Fluoride varnishes not only are quick and painless, but they have been shown to save parents money and children pain by significantly reducing the risk of cavities.
