9 YEAR VISIT
The 9 Year Visit involves a comprehensive exam, a review of your child’s development and growth, and a review of your child’s diet, voiding habits, and sleeping routines. This is a great visit to discuss any concerns about learning, behavior, and puberty. Also the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association recommend your child get a blood lipid panel to screen for early heart disease between 9 to 11 years of age.
Attention: Most children become obese between 5 and 10 years of age and your pediatrician can see it happening months to years in advance. There aren’t any shots for awhile but checkups are still very important for your child.
